SOCIAL ART DEVELOPED BY HOMELESS PEOPLE

AMAQTEDU is a social project which develops training and self-development courses related with arts, for homeless people and people at risk of exclusion in shelter homes and other social centers located in Madrid. The product, named "Lienzos Vitales" (or Vital Canvas), developed after each training session is prepared and professionalized to be exposed in different events and expositions (in hotels, enterprises and art galleries) across the country. From now on, families and enterprises will have the chance to decorate their homes/buildings with social art made by local people in need.

AMAQTEDU is a 100% social enterprise, devoting all the net profit to finance education and enable homeless people and people at risk of exclusion to achieve labour reinsertion. Our product is composed by the painting and the story the author wants to communicate. Do not forget the author is almost always a homeless person or a person at risk of exclusion. Just in a few cases, the painting is a collaboration between our volunteers and the people who attend our courses. Therefore, the painting and the story shows the reality of this people and part of their biography.

Furthermore, the social impact is double: not only due to the money collected that afterwards will be devoted to people in need, but also the social impact in the client (who buys the painting) and the people who will see the painting and read the story. They will become more and more conscious about local poverty, local homelessness and local social necessities
